Daniel’s Broccoli Salad

Daniel’s Broccoli Salad

??????????Broccoli from the gardenThis is Daniel’s (my fiance) creation,  made with broccoli grown in our garden. It’s always tastes better when you have grown it in your own garden!! Broccoli is part of the cruciferous vegetable family (Cruciferous veggies like; broccoli, kale, cabbage, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts and bok choy contain an abundance of disease fighting phytochemicals, fiber, vitamins and minerals). Broccoli contains cancer fighting nutrients as well as Beta-carotene,  calcium, iron, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, and zinc.  Other benefits of Broccoli include anti-viral, anti-ulcer activity, protects against heart disease and strokes, balances blood sugar levels and very high in fibre.
So make sure you eat your greens daily!!

Watch this You Tube video on Broccoli vs Breast Cancer Stem Cells

Serves 4
½ Yellow pepper sliced
4 Medium sized radishes
½ medium sized cucumber
2 handfuls of cherry tomatoes cut in half??????????

Spring 2013 Detox Package Special

yummy dem salad

Shake off Winter and put a Spring in your step with this fantastic 4 Week Detox Program!!! Perfect to shed a few kgs and gain some energy and vitality and a positive outlook on life!!

Detoxification (Detox) is the word used to describe the process your body goes through to eliminate toxins that could potentially harm the body and ultimately long term health. Ensuring efficient elimination of toxins from the body is a fundamental and vital aspect of health and well-being.

A toxin is any kind of compound or substance that can cause harm to cells, organs, or systems of the body.

 Why Detox?

Our bodies ARE capable of cleansing, healing and detoxifying themselves however, when we are overloading our bodies, not only from what we are putting into them like; refined carbohydrates, sugar,  preservatives & chemicals, caffeine, alcohol, pharmaceutical drugs, and animal proteins with antibiotics & hormones. But also from external factors such as pollution, stress, not enough rest/sleep, not enough/too much exercise. This causes our bodies to battle and not function the way they should, because all the energy is focused on dealing with these toxins and finding way to get them out of the body. You can assist your body to eliminate toxins by applying certain protocols, supplements, resting your body and reducing or cutting out these stress causing substances. This would help your body function in a much better way and would leave you feeling energetic and full of vitality to live your best life.

I am offering a wonderful Spring 2013 Detox Package Special consisting of:

  • A 4 Week Detox programme valued at R500
  • 1 x herbal product to assist the Detoxification process to the value of R350
  • 4 x Consultations.  Nutritional Consultations – valued at R1200

The above is valued at R2050 I am offering the package for R1500! That is a savings of R550!

The offer is valid until 30th September 2013  (Terms and Conditions Apply)

Nicole Harvey

New to Specialised Kinesiology?

Kinesiology is about helping people to help themselves.

Take this opportunity to experience this awesome modality!

I am offering a 30% saving on sessions for NEW CLIENTS who have not yet experienced Specialised Kinesiology.

Normal session R290, with the 30% savings you pay only R200

Valid until 31st July 2013

Specialised Kinesiology uses muscle monitoring as a primary feedback mechanism. It is a process of finding out from the person using the technique of muscle monitoring where they are adapting appropriately and where not. Through the application of various protocols and techniques this uncovers and helps release and /or reframes unresolved issues, hurts, pain and resentments.  These are often physically stored in the body and can lead to stress, tension, fatigue, lowered immune functioning & even weight issues.

Specialised Kinesiology may help with; General Fatigue, Allergies, Learning difficulties, Insomnia, Low self Esteem, Digestive disorders, Skin Problems, Stress & Anxiety, Sinusitis, Past Trauma, Sports Injuries, Fears and Phobias, Chronic Pain, Goal Setting,  Weight Issues.

It is important to understand that Kinesiologist’s do not diagnose or treat specific illness because they do not work according to the “medical model” of disease. Rather, they work within an entirely different paradigm, that of balancing the body’s energy systems so the innate wisdom of the body can heal itself. Kinesiology is complementary to orthodox medicine, and works with, not against it.

Specialised Kinesiology is suitable for babies, toddlers, teenagers and adults!

Specialised Kinesiology is non-intrusive, completely natural and can be used in conjunction with other modalities.

What is Kinesiology?

Specialised Kinesiology uses muscle monitoring as a primary feedback mechanism to establish how a person is functioning. It is a process of finding out from the person using the technique of muscle monitoring where they are adapting appropriately and where not. This uncovers, and through the application of various protocols and techniques helps to release and/or reframe unresolved issues, hurts, pains and resentments that are physically stored in the body and can lead to stress, tension, fatigue and even lowered immune functioning. Specialised Kinesiology is non-intrusive, completely natural and can be used in conjunction with other modalities.

What do I expect at a Kinesiology session?

You will complete a form and we will chat about your issue or focus. You will then be asked remove your shoes and lie on the therapy bed. Your arm will be used to check responses (sometimes to verbal questioning). Depending on the priority issue a number of procedures may be carried out. A session lasts approximately 1 hour.

How many sessions do I need?

This is dependent on the person and the condition however; four sessions are suggested to experience the full benefits. Follow up visits may be in one, two or three weeks. Each person and their issues are unique. Many people choose to have a Kinesiology session every 4 to 6 weeks for stress management or as a preventative measure.

Is Specialised Kinesiology suitable for children?

Many researchers in Kinesiology have noted great improvements in ADD, ADHD, Dyslexia, reading, writing and spelling with children of all ages. Education as well as Nutrition is very important, so all efforts to clear blockages to learning should be explored by parents and teachers. If a child is not performing at their optimal level at school Kinesiology may be just what you are looking for. Specialised Kinesiology is suitable for babies, toddlers, teenagers and adults!

What can I expect after a Kinesiology session?

After a Kinesiology session you may be very relaxed, or full of energy. You may experience emotional ups and downs. The body may begin to eliminate toxins and you may experience the following physical symptoms: skin problems, nausea, headache, sleepiness, fatigue, constipation, diarrhoea, head or chest cold, increased urination or any other way the body uses to loosen and eliminate including crying. These are the body’s way of re-adjusting.  During this time you should increase your intake of water and rest when your body needs it.

Kinesiology Background?

Dr. Goodheart D.C. is accredited as being the Father of Kinesiology when in 1964, he acknowledged that basic chiropractic adjustments often were not providing complete relief for physical disabilities and discovered that the problem seemed to be related to muscle spasms that were not being released. A study of the original methods of testing muscles described by Kendall and Kendall (ref: Kendall 1949) led to the primary diagnostic tool of muscle testing which they termed Applied Kinesiology. Their discovery later included work from pioneers like Dr. Frank Chapman, Dr. Terence Bennett, Dr. John Thie, Gordon Stokes and Dr. Paul Dennison, and thus today, Kinesiology has evolved into something far greater that just a health care system… it is a tool for Truth in the world.

It is important to understand that Kinesiologists do not diagnose or treat specific illness because they do not work according to the “medical model” of disease. Rather, they work within an entirely different paradigm, that of balancing the body’s energy systems so the innate wisdom of the body can heal itself. Kinesiology is complementary to orthodox medicine, and works with, not againstit.

Red Pepper and Tomato Soup

??????????Serves 3-4

5 Tomatoes

2 Red peppers

¼ Red onion

1 handful fresh basil leaves

1 handful cashews

2 T olive oil

Himalayan rock salt to taste

1 small handful goji berries

1 /2 C warm water

Cayenne pepper to spice it up (optional)DSCN1094

Blend everything together. Add more water to achieve desired thickness. Pour into soup bowls and enjoy (warm your soup bowls before)

Remember raw food does not have to be cold food! Food that has not been heated above 47 degrees is still considered raw. You can finger test – as long as you can put your finger in the pot without scorching it you’re good to go.

The recipe above is from Rawlicious by Peter and Beryn Daniel.
